FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13 - ENCORE ACTION - WORLD TELEVISION PREMIERE - "HIS NAME WAS JASON"

How do we kill you? Let us count the ways. Death is never having to say you're sorry - at least for decapitating you and uh, other nasty things. On Friday, February 13 at 9:00 p.m. (et/pt), a horror icon finally gets his due the night before Valentine's Day. Encore Action presents the World Television Premiere of His Name Was Jason, a documentary on 30 years of Friday the 13th films - and just in time as the latest theatrical version of the hockey-masked psycho killer slashes through the big screen.

Hosted by legendary special effects make-up artist Tom Savini - whose (literally) eye-popping prosthetics were featured in such gore-fest classics as 1979's Dawn of the Dead, Creepshow, Maniac, and the original Friday the 13th - His Name Was Jason is the definitive look at the history and cultural legacy of this 20th Century boogeyman. Extensive interviews were conducted with over eighty people involved throughout the entire Friday the 13th franchise, as well as filmmaker and fan testimonials including actors Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Vincent Gustaferro, Lar Park-Lincoln, Peter Mark Richman, Seth Green and Travis Van Winkle (2009 remake); Jason Voorhees portrayers: Ari Lehman, Warrington Gillette, Richard Brooker, Ted White, C.J. Graham, and Kane Hodder; filmmakers: Sean S. Cunningham, Danny Steinmann, Tom McLoughlin, John Carl Buechler, Joseph Zito, Greg Nicotero, Marcus Nispel, and Composer Harry Manfredini, creator of Jason's signature musical cue "Sh-sh-sh-sh, ha-ha-ha-ha;" and many other talking "heads."
