Nickelodeon's 22nd Annual Kids' Choice Awards Hosted by Dwayne Johnson Will Be Telecast Live, Saturday, March 28
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Kid faves/superstars who've notched a spot among the A-list of nominees for coveted Kids' Choice Blimp trophies in Nickelodeon's 22nd Annual Kids' Choice Awards -- the kudo/mess-fest to be telecast live from UCLA's Pauley Pavilion Saturday, March 28 (8-9:30 p.m. ET/PT) -- include: Jennifer Aniston, Beyonce, Jack Black, Chris Brown, Jim Carrey, Miranda Cosgrove, Miley Cyrus, America Ferrera, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway, Vanessa Hudgens, The Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, George Lopez, Michael Phelps, Adam Sandler, Will Smith, Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon, Nat Wolff and Tiger Woods. And this year, when kids honor their favorites from the worlds of film, music, TV and sports -- and go green amid massive slime showers -- action star host, Dwayne Johnson, will rock at the helm.
Making the grade again with kids, five-time Kids' Choice winners/former slimees Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler and Will Smith all nabbed nominations for Favorite Movie Actor: Carrey for Yes Man, Sandler for Bedtime Stories and Smith for Hancock. In fact, dual nominee Carrey's up for Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie (Horton in Horton Hears a Who), too. First-timer George Lopez squares off against the trio of vets. Emmy and Golden Globe winner Jennifer Aniston got her seventh KCA nom with Marley & Me, and current Oscar nominee Anne Hathaway got her first, for Get Smart. Former KCA hosts Jack Black and Ben Stiller are back, this time with noms for Favorite Voice from an Animated Movie (respectively Po in Kung Fu Panda and Alex in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa), and their flicks duke it out with the likes of Bolt and Wall-e. Meanwhile, The Dark Knight and Iron Man face Bedtime Stories and High School Musical 3: Senior Year for Favorite Movie.
Miley Cyrus, who took home two Blimps last year, not only picked up a pair of noms for Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Voice in an Animated Movie (Penny in Bolt), her Hannah Montana grabbed one for Favorite TV Show. Miranda Cosgrove clinched a nom for Favorite TV Actress, and her show, iCarly is up against the likes of Hannah, Zoey 101 and The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, whose stars Dylan and Cole Sprouse face each other, Nat Wolff and Jason Lee for Favorite TV Actor. Last year's Favorite Reality Show, American Idol, could take that title again, and five-time Favorite Cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants absorbed yet another nomination, and will square off again against former Blimp winning animated family The Simpsons.
Last year's Favorite Musical Group, The Jonas Brothers, are contenders in that category, competing against Linkin Park and KCA newcomers Pussycat Dolls and Daughtry. Beyonce, who grabbed a pair of Blimps in 2007 (Favorite Female Singer and Song) got dual noms (Single Ladies). She'll face off against former KCA winners Cyrus and Alicia Keys and Rihanna whose Don't Stop the Music also is nominated for Favorite Song. Chris Brown, who seized a Blimp last year, is up again for Favorite Male Singer.
